How do I set up my mobile device to check my email and calendar?

Do I still need to use Message Screen to check for spam?

In the interim, yes. Once the email migration has been completed for everyone, SPAM messages will be directed to the Junk Mail folder in Outlook and Mac Mail.

How do I reset my password in the new system?

You will continue to reset your password via the change password page found here on the technology website.

I use Rules to manage my email. Will those rules transfer to my new account?

No. Before the migration, you should make note of any rules you have created in your email client or in ScotMail. They will need to be set up again in the new system. See Rules in Mac Mail. See Rules in Outlook. See Rules in Exchange Online.

I used to use proxy access to log into shared email accounts. Will I still have access to those accounts?

Yes. Your proxy access to accounts will be preserved in the migration of your account settings to the new system. You will receive a message in your new email inbox with instructions on how to access the email account in the new system.

I used to share address books and/or email folders with my colleagues. Will they still be shared in the new system?

Yes. As part of the migration process, shared addressbooks and email folders will be moved to the new system. You will receive a message in your new email inbox with instructions on how to access the shared addressbooks (PAB) and shared email folders in the new system.

NOTE: DO NOT FOLLOW THESE STEPS UNLESS YOU HAVE RECEIVED CONFIRMATION THAT YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT MIGRATION HAS BEEN COMPLETED.

If you are already using Mac Mail to manage your email, you may have your email set to leave your email on the server. This enables you to check all of your messages from any device – mobile, web access, etc. – at any time. This process uses what we call IMAP settings.
Or you may have Mac Mail set to remove your email messages from the server and store them locally on your computer’s hard drive. This process uses what we call POP settings. In using POP settings, you can also select the option to leave a copy on the server.

The following instructions should be used if you currently have Mac Mail configured with IMAP settings.

To configure Mac Mail to access your email on the Microsoft 365 Exchange Online server, you’ll need to set up a new account in Mac Mail. Remember that all of your email, folders, contacts and calendar items have been moved to the new server for you. You will, however, need to make a note of any email management rules that you have configured in Mac Mail. Those will need to be recreated in the new account.

STEP 1. Select Preferences in Mac Mail.

Step 2. Select Accounts, next to General. Then click the + sign at the bottom of the window to add a new account.

Step 3. Enter the information for your account. Your full name, your College of Wooster email address and your email password. Then click continue.

Step 4. Mail will now contact the exchange server to find the settings for your account. Once this is complete, you should see the account summary window below. Click Create.

Step 5. You have now created your new account. You can edit what this account is called under Description, if you wish. Note that your old account will still be visible. Once you have created the new account, you can access the old account BUT DO NOT SEND EMAIL YOUR OLD GROUPWISE/SCOTMAIL ACCOUNT. Once you are sure that everything has transferred, it is best to delete the old account from Mac Mail.
