Office 365 Quick Guide

What’s the difference between Office ProPlus and the Office Web Apps?

Office ProPlus allows you to download a full version of the latest Microsoft Office Suite that you can install on up to 5 devices with a single license.  This license is active as long as you are a student, staff, or faculty at The College of Wooster.

  • You can upgrade your current version of Office for Free.
  • Use this version if you don’t already have a copy of Office installed on your laptop.

Office Web Apps are limited versions of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and OneNote that allow you to edit documents in a browser window.  You can create a new document online, edit an existing document, share it with others and save it back to your SkyDrive (soon to be OneDrive) using Office Web Apps.  You do not need to have a full version of Office installed on your computer to use Office Web Apps.

  • Use Office Web Apps when you want to collaborate on a document with a colleague or another student.
  • Use Office Web Apps when you are traveling and want to be able to edit a document on the road.
